Coaching Matters: Around the Web August 2013

321131-tim-moltzen-tigers-trainingPre-season is at an end for winter sports now and while the Physical Preparation Coaches mournfully drag the kegs, logs and timing gates back to the kit sheds, the players look forward to the business of competitive matches.

August has once again provided a bonanza of articles to digest for my monthly Coaching Matters round up as the methods (and madness) of the many varied training regimes have come under scrutiny. Below are the articles I have found interesting.

As there are so many this month I have picked out a Top 10 (my arbitrary selection!) for those who don’t fancy wading through 110 links!

Don’t forget that if you have written or know of similar content that would be good for future posts then please let me know via or on Twitter @SiNainby.

Special mention this month goes to Jeff Mitchell (@coachgrowth on Twitter), a Community Coach Advisor from New Zealand, who has an excellent blog devoted to Coach Development. He has written a 11 part series looking at the many various aspects of personal development that will benefit any coach which mirror many of my own views – click here to read more.

I also wrote two blogs this month which you might like to read:
